While I'm in the field.  Some time. I need  more rf power to have  wider distance contacts. 

 Sometimes I use a handmade HF amplifier with pp 2 Χ MRF 454 Motorola gives 200w PEP SSB . 160 CW

 

 Some times i use  a commercial Amplifier SPOKEN with modification with 2X 2SC2879 

    SPOKEN TYPE 250 

MAY GIVE PEP 250w SSB /   200 CW

Kenwood rigs are reliable . At least with me.  without damages.  The aboves are among the best analog receivers . 

 And the most important are antennas for sure.. but some rigs are special.
